Pineapple and Summertime

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Pineapple tanks and straw clutches because what screams summer more than that combo?
I really am loving these pink, ruffle shorts this summer!
Check out my tassel bracelets for sale in my etsy shop!
I am trying to embrace the last month and a half of summer even though the humidity is killing me and I want cooler weather. Tank tops and cute shorts are definitely my go – to on weekends since I am back in school and following a dress code throughout the week. With it being so darn hot and sticky out, it’s hard to live and breathe in any type of thick material. Usually I apply the rule of “more is more” (yes I may have made that up) but I LOVE wearing layers and multiple pieces to pull an outfit together. Seeing that I can’t do that right now without suffocating, I opt for loads of jewelry and a cute handbag!

p.s. I strongly encourage all of you to see the new Step-Up movie because it was wonderful :)

Right Back to Reality

Cheers to a new school year! I cannot believe the time has come for my last year of high school. I am so excited to become one step closer to what lies ahead of me! Between college applications and social events, this year will definitely be busier than ever. I encourage all of you seniors (and juniors and sophomores and freshmen) to make the most of this school year and TRY to have as much fun as you can ;)

Traditions call for the girls to wear their "senior ladies" shirts on the first day of school. I was a little bummed because I couldn't wear a "first day of school outfit". I opted to try to dress my t-shirt up a little bit instead of pairing it with jeans (which I totally would have).

I've seen many girls wearing these tassel bracelets lately and I have decided to make my own! I am obsessed.

... Because what's an outfit post without tons of jewelry and big hair?

After a long day filled with classes my hair got a little frizzy... oops.

You can get my bracelet in my Etsy shop now!

Desert Dreaming

It has been a while but finally an outfit post!!!!! Yay for getting back on schedule. Speaking of schedules, school starts soon and I'm so excited but nervous at the same time. It is my last year of high school and then it will be time to move on to better things. Okay I am not about to make this a sappy post so anyways I thought this outfit was appropriate for 3 reasons. (Or maybe 4 reasons....)

1. I can't wait to live in the desert. Like seriously it is all I think about everyday all day. Someone buy me a plane ticket to fly out West please.
2. I am having dinner with some family friends from Texas tonight so what is there better to where than a cactus tee and Texas state Necklace?
3. College applications open soon and that means every college in Arizona and Texas better watch out.
4. I like cactus... duh.

On a side note, I had a wonderful week in Guatemala and may have done some shopping damage....

I am loving this hat. I think it might be a new favorite for going out.

Now that I am settling back into a routine over the next couple of weeks, I will hopefully be posting much more outfit photos. If you haven't seen my last post of my vlog from Guatemala, go check it out right now!

Guatemala Vlog Day 1 & 2

I know I have been M.I.A. for the past week but that is because I have been on a family vacation in Guatemala! My brother lives down there with his wife and her family so we were visiting them. I compiled some clips from each day we were there so feel free to watch some of the things we did!

I will be posting a travel guide soon for Guatemala and stay tuned for the next vlog!

Senior Picture Outfit Ideas

When the time came for me to take senior pictures, I was freaking out. You've got one shot for this and it has to be perfect. Hair, makeup, outfit, the whole thing must look flawless. So seriously two days before I ran to the mall to see if I could find a last minute dress to wear in my senior pics. I was lucky and fell in love with a dress I found at Francesca's. My suggestion to you though... do not wait last minute. Plan exactly what you want to wear and practice your hair and makeup at least a week before if you will be styling it yourself.

Here are a few outfits that I think would look great in photos:
Option 1: Wear a simple, solid-colored dress. Some patterns can be unflattering and too busy for the camera so you want to keep it simple. Also, who wants to look back 10 years from now and say, "OMG, what was I thinking?" A bold statement necklace will make a solid dress pop! I personally like to pair contrasting colors (turquoise and orange, pink and royal blue, navy and yellow...you get the point). For my pictures I wore beige and white polka dot wedges and I LOVED them. They put the whole outfit together. I also love these Ugg wedges. I own a pair in black and they are the most comfortable shoes ever.. like better than flats.

Option 2: For someone who doesn't want a very dressy outfit but still look nice, this outfit is perfect for you. The flowy dress with lace detailing is very bohemian and the nude sandals compliment it well. My favorite part is the beaded tassel bracelets! Tassel detailing has become a huge trend in jewelry and I love how the orange tassel matches the orange lace detailing. I also think this whole outfit would look great with a flower crown!

Dress: Tobi // Bracelet: Gold and Gray // Shoes: Steve Madden

Option 3: This look is the most casual out of the 3, however, I think it is fabulous. Check out the shorts.. aren't they to die for? The black crop top would look so great with the shorts and the electric blue necklace stands out against the black top. The shoes are casual but with glitter detailing they make a statement for sure.

Button Downs and Denim Town

Is it just me or does anyone else have a hard time finding the perfect pair of high-wasted shorts? I've been wanting a clean cut pair (no rips) that cuff at the bottom. The other day I was at Forever 21 and boom... there they were.
The fit is just right and the color is perfect. I've been dreaming of tucking this button down into           some shorts since I bought it and it paired great with these.
Maybe I can get away with it at school (fingers cross).
I could wear converse 24/7 because they are the best shoes for everything. If you don't own any then get some because they are life savers and soooo comfortable.

Looking at trees because I just adore nature.... ;)
